  • Eat Me

Raiu and I were talking last night and she threatened to run away to Candy Mountain and live in the Candy Cane Forest.

Now, I’m pretty sure she meant she was going to run away to Candy Land not to a mountain where two  annoying unicorns will steal her kidney.  That’s my gig.

So in order to placate her and play up to her psychological sweet tooth I knit her a cupcake hat

At first she sulked, but she eventually warmed up to the pink pastry on her head.

If your plastic alter ego has a fashion sweet tooth like mine, then why not buy a copy of Raiu’s “Eat Me” hat?

    Spring is in the air

The Pacific Northwest has seen very little winter this year. It seems that el nino has graced us with an unwelcome early spring-like weather, minus the precipitation. But instead of letting the implications for drought-like summer conditions overwhelm me, I am letting myself be inspired. It’s time to get creative.

So, I’m downing a couple sudafed and allergy pills and assuming the slumped position over my sewing machine or knitting needles. I may even take up a few new crafts, income permitting.

Stay tuned for dozens of things you can easily live without!

    Bees in her Bonnet

Raiu loves bugs. Moths. Fireflies. Crickets. Cicadas. BEES. Oh, how she loves bees.

With this uncharacteristically warm weather of late, she has spied through her window that the flowers are starting to bloom and she felt her tiny plastic bosom swell with excitement at the thought that her little yellow and black friends would be returning.

But since Melanie does not like spending much time outside, Raiu is likewise restrained from pursuing buzzing creatures through the wildflowers. But not to be easily despaired, Raiu decided to bring the bees indoors.

The “Bees in Her Bonnet” knitted cap was created to mimic in shape the iconic bee hive. And the effect was so successful that it attracted it’s very own bee!

Raiu would like to share this hat (and it’s bee) with you.  Since it is her first knitted creation she is offering it for the low price of $11, shipping included.  Why not $10?  Raiu likes the number 11.

    Hello monkeys!!

My name is Melanie, and I’m a Kidney Harvester.

    Hello Melanie.

It’s been ….uh…  a couple hours since I sold my last kidney.

    *scattered clapping*

I, uh, make things.  You know, crafty things. I have a lot of time on my hands since… two hours ago. So, um… buy my stuff.  Or I’ll have to start harvesting kidneys again to make ends meet.
